A playful picture book built around animals, colour, and visual surprise. Each creature combines recognisable features with unexpected patterns and transformations, creating a light surreal atmosphere aimed at young readers. The simplicity of the compositions and the isolated figures against white backgrounds help maintain clarity and focus, allowing the book to function both as a narrative object and as an exploration of visual recognition.
About the illustration
The illustrations were created using digital watercolour, combining soft painterly textures with clean graphic definition. Rather than pursuing realism, the images emphasise silhouette, colour relationships, and decorative patterning. The restrained compositions give prominence to each character individually, encouraging close observation of shapes, textures, and chromatic contrasts.
